This class is a 5-week series.
Ages: Adult
Some materials included. We’ll provide the pattern for a 3/4 sleeve T-Shirt and Leggings. As for fabric, we have a limited supply in the studio of mostly bright patterns - if you prefer to use our fabric, you can let us know in advance, and we can send an invoice for the extra cost of using our fabric, or you can pay in person at the studio. However, we highly recommend using this opportunity to pick out your own fabric! We recommend fabric stores such as Stone Mountain & Daughter, Harts Fabric, or Mood Fabrics.
You will need to bring fabric for:
T-shirt: 1 3/8 yards of lightweight to midweight knit fabric, such as jersey, interlock, double knit, rib knit, single knit, or performance knit. Fabric should have at least 20% crossgrain stretch.
Pants: 1 1/2 yards (Adult XS - L) or 1 7/8 yards (XL or bigger) of midweight to bottomweight knit fabric, such as ponte, interlock, double knit, or performance knit. Fabric should have at least 20% crossgrain stretch.
Feel free to email us if you have any questions regarding fabric.
Prerequisite: Intro to Machine Sewing and/or Adult Sew, and Adult Sew 2 (or equivalent experience)
Level: Intermediate
CLASS DETAILS
For every adult who wants to take your sewing skills to the next level!
You’ve learned the sewing basics and used your first pattern - now, let’s STREEEEEEEEEEETCH your sewing know-how even further. From soft t-shirts to flowy maxi skirts to your favorite sweats, stretchy knit fabrics are everywhere.
Sewing with knits is a whole separate skill set and Camp Fashionista can help you level up.
We’ll teach you how to set up your machine with the right kind of needle, the special tools and stitches knits require, and specialized cutting and sewing techniques that make knit projects so fabulous.
In this class, we will continue familiarizing ourselves with patterns and make a simple T-shirt and a pair of leggings.
Have a sewing machine collecting dust in the closet? Bring it in and we’ll get you up to speed so you can finally put it to use at home.
After completing this class series, you’ll be a fully-rounded sewist, ready to take on any project. The hardest part is starting, and you’ve already done that - let’s keep that momentum going!
